Mother's Day 2000
Food Industry News recently listed the major reasons people go out to eat. We were curious to see how our diners matched up with the diners surveyed, so we conducted an informal Pillar House poll. The following are the results, starting with the most common answers given:
- Not in the mood to cook
- Work hard/deserve a break
- Spending time with family/friends
- Celebrating a special occasion
- Craving a menu item
- Feeling the time crunch
- Have no food in the house
- Busy day at work
No surprises here! I'm sure these are some of the same reasons that you continue to choose the Pillar House. We know that celebrating a special occasion is one of the top reasons people select the Pillar House. With Mother's Day approaching, I'd like to talk about how the Pillar House plans to celebrate this special occasion.
Over the years, we have received many requests to open for Mother's Day. Last year, for the first time in twenty-six years, we honored those requests. The positive feedback from our guests was so overwhelming that no discussion was needed this year; we will be open on May 14, 2000 for Mother's Day.
As we did last year, we are announcing our Mother's Day opening to our newsletter subscribers so that you have the opportunity to make early reservations. We are very pleased that our guests choose the Pillar House to celebrate the special times of their lives and we hope to see you on Mother's Day.
