Sterling Vineyards Wine Dinner
Whenever the wine discussion turns to Sterling Vineyards most people immediately recall that besides making fine wine it also happens to be a really special place to visit. The architecture of the winery and its location on the top of a hill are striking to say the least. Even more surprising and unusual is the mode of access to the winery by a unique sky tram-type lift. Once there visitors can explore the surroundings and sample the current releases as well as several selections from the library cellar.
Founded in 1964 Sterling Vineyards was among the first to successfully introduce a vintage dated Napa Valley Merlot in 1969. From its beginning the focus has been on producing quality varietal wines ranging from crisp Sauvignon Blanc, creamy Chardonnay, elegant Pinot Noir, velvety Merlot and robust Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition to regular bottlings, Sterling also prides itself in making small amounts of wines from single-vineyard locations including Winery Lake, Diamond Mountain Ranch, and Three Palms Vineyard.
Pillar House will introduce several of the finest wines produced by Sterling to our guests during the next wine dinner event, which will be held on Tuesday, April 18th. The evening will begin with a reception at 6:30 p.m. followed by a multi-course dinner. Each wine selection will be complemented by a unique dish prepared by our Chef Scott Pelletier. As usual, a guest speaker will be available to provide interesting commentary and background information about the wines. Please call the Pillar House at (617) 969-6500 to make your reservations. The cost of $73.80 per person includes the tax and gratuity. We encourage our guests to call early as this event has a limited number of spaces available and tends to fill rather quickly.
