Chef Gill's Departure

As most of you know by now, we recently wished a fond farewell to Bert and Tara Gill. Bert began working at the Pillar House in 1994. His first position as the Sous Chef brought him to the attention of many of our guests. His cooking classes were always sold out within the first twenty-four hours of posting. Most of you remember Tara as the Dining Room Manager and recently as a server. The Gills found themselves yearning for the familiarity of their family and friends in the South. So with plans outlined for a new business and home, they sold their house, packed their belongings, including their dogs Gator and Bear, and headed to Florida. I wish them great success in their new endeavors. They will be missed.

I want to thank you all for sharing your Mother's Day at the Pillar House. It was due to your requests that we opened on Mother's Day for the first time in twenty-eight years. As always, I am glad that I listened to you. Have a wonderful summer....
